Facilities at Camp Walden
Nestled in the pine-filled woods, Camp Walden has rich facilities and occupies more than 150 acres of forest and grassy fields, with have over a half-mile of beachfront property with docks for swimming, sailing, canoeing, and water-skiing on Sand Pond. Peace Circle, home of weekly campfires is also on the waterfront, adjacent to the boating area.
The Main House is in the center of the camp. This is home to our dining room, administrative offices, and recreation porch – ping pong anyone? On rainy days the stone fireplace in the Main House living room gives campers a place to quietly read and drink hot chocolate.
Camper cabins are located in a horseshoe around a pine-needled knoll called the Grove. They are situated close to the Main House and the Health Center. From the lower tier of the camper cabins the view of the lake and the cry of loons at night, provide authentic Maine memories.
